Yes I did it in Inkscape, I had to switch between line view and normal view many times. It seems that blurring makes things *very* slow.
I have a transparent SVG version, but I couldn't upload more than one SVG at a time.

I als opended it in inkscape to colorize it in a blue tone and had the same performance issue (cpu).
You can switch to "outline" mode, this might help

Did you actually do this in Inkscape?
Opening the scalable in my Inkscape is _terribly_ slow, and that is on a rather decent cpu.

(And, for what it's worth, I get really abysmal performance in Inkscape whenever there are blurred elements, too... this with a modern CPU, even. At least this wallpaper doesn't need editing.
