Aero-ion By 0ion9

Home > Themes > Application Themes > Aero-ion
Preview Cleaner, more Amiga-ish (pixel-art-ish) version of Aero theme. Notably, better highlighting of focused objects (checkboxes, radio buttons, other grabbable things), and eliminates the rather difficult-to-look-at checkered background from most widgets.

(to clarify: this theme is unrelated to the ion 3 window manager.)

This is a great theme. I love it. It installed easily, just by clicking and dragging it into the theme manager. I only had one tiny problem with it - the contrast between the "on" and "off" radio buttons wasn't good enough for me to see, so I couldn't tell whether I had checked the button or not. (maybe I'm just getting old ...)

If anyone else is having this problem, it's an easy fix. I fixed it by going to
/home/jeff/.themes/Aero-ion3.1/gtk-2.0
and typing
"sudo gimp check2.png"
and putting a big green dot right in the middle of the image. That made the contrast much clearer, and I can now easily tell if I have clicked the button.

Thanks for the theme.

I just installed this theme, and it looks great on my Ubuntu 8.04 desktop.

Note: I did not need to use instructions provided by zap, I just used the theme manager to install it.

Nice theme, but the files in archive have wrong attributes, so I believe there were lots of users who discarded it just because "it doesn't work".

To fix, after unpacking the theme to /usr/share/themes do:

chown root:root /usr/share/themes/Aero-ion3.1 -R
find /usr/share/themes/Aero-ion3.1 -type d | xargs chmod a+rx
find /usr/share/themes/Aero-ion3.1 -type f | xargs chmod a+r
