can't install neither trough art-gnome application or downloading from this web site, i have a 0kb file
apps/mozilla-firefox.svg to apps/firefox-icon.svg to stay with name consistency (mozilla-icon.svg).
Wrong Symlinks:
apps/boot.svg should be a link to apps/dropline.svg
apps/gnome-control-center.svg should be a link to apps/administration.svg
apps/gnome-monitor.svg should be a link to procman.svg
apps/procman.svg should be a link to icon-systemhealth.svg
filesystems/gnome-fs-bookmarks.svg should be a link to
gnome-fs-bookmark.svg
mimetypes/gnome-mime-application-pgp-keys.svg should be a link to gnome-mime-application-pgp.svg
mimetypes/gnome-mime-application-pgp.svg should be a link to gnome-mime-application-pgp-encrypted.svg
Wrong permission rights:
apps/dlg-applet/* should not have their +x(executable) right enabled.
ok, just posted the new link. here's a minimal changelog:
* Working stock icons without iconrc file! (gtk-2.6)
* Fixed dead symlinks
* Well... many new icons, can't remember how many
, i'm not a good "changelog man"
I'd like to thank Leo Baker Hytch for the following icons:
Anjuta
Blender
Bonobo Browser
gvim
Limewire
and everyone's comments and suggestions at GNOME art
you should untar them in ~/.icons (~ means your home directory)... btw, a new package is coming really soon
For the next release, check that your files in the tar archive have correct access rights too (some of your icon files are exe).
weird... i have those working fine here... even if i remove the icons from /usr/share/icons they still work... i'm currently working on the iconset, i'm adding some Evolution icons and some other stuff. now stock icons are working without the iconrc file, so i might release something soon... i'll do more testing to avoid those broken symlinks.
Just downloaded the theme, found that four of the symlinks are fixed to /usr/share/... (including boot.svg, gnome-monitor.svg, etc.)
Could you please change them to point to relative path (just the file without /usr/share/... part) so they can be copied to places like ~/.icons/ and still be useful? Also, if xmms.svg and gvim.svg as symlinks could be created as symlinks to something it would be very nice.
Oh, and what a BEAUTIFUL icon set! Thanks so much!
nope, but now that you mentioned firefox i might start something
... i've been really busy with school.
Fantastic! It has made all the difference!
Any plans for a firefox theme, too?
You can't just change to the theme to get the stock icons to work; there are several other steps that must be taken.
1) Copy the ./dlg-etiquette/stock/iconrc/iconrc file to the /usr/share/themes/[name of theme you want to see stock icons in]/gtk-2.0/ folder. (Make sure all the paths in this text file are pointing to the correct location of your icons).
2) Edit the /usr/share/themes/[name of theme you want to see stock icons in]/gtk-2.0/gtkrc file - add the line
include "iconrc"
to the very top. Save it. (You will likely need to be root for this).
3) The next time you change to whatever theme you edited, your stock icons should all be Dropline-Etiquette stock icons. You can edit as many themes as you wish in this manner.

Fantastic icon set - instant favourite.
However I'm also having problems with getting all icons to work (ie: back/forward/refresh - and I think all other "stock" icons). Has anybody succeeded in getting them to work?
Keep up the great work Ertz!
still can\\\'t get stock icons working -- installed the theme on ubuntu, everything works fine except for the stock stuff ...
should the stock folder be included in index.theme as context=Stock? Does gnome really look in stock/iconrc/iconrc file to find where to look for the stock stuff?
great theme anyway ;o)
Ops... another thing
probably you need to add some symlink or new icon for new openoffice2 file format, for example:
application/vnd.oasis.opendocument.text is new mimetype for .odt writer file
Great job... but:
dlg-etiquette/scalable/mimetypes/gnome-mime-application-pgp-keys.svg and dlg-etiquette/scalable/mimetypes/gnome-mime-application-pgp.svg are symlinked using an absolute path instead of a relative one.
And then... imho the original gaim's icon is much beautiful than your
thanks for using this iconset
... i just uploaded a package with some bug fixes (like those dead symlinks, and the awful galeon icon).
Excellent icons, fits nicely with "Gorilla" (as window-border) and "Clearlooks" (as controls)
Excellent work, it fits really good with "Gorilla" and "Clearlooks"
sometimes i can be so stupid... heh, i forgot to include the symlinks, that's why the gnome-monitor icon was missing... anyway, i uploaded a new package to fix this and adds a few icons (including Galeon, doesn't look very good right now, but it's better than nothing i guess).
hmm... weird, i don't remember naming that icon "gnome-system-monitor.svg".
"gnome-monitor.svg" has been created on April 14 (that's what it shows here, "last modified date"), and the iconset was updated on April 15... i don't think any of the AGO mods could have renamed it...
anyway, i'll try to upload a new bugfix update to fix this...
The icon was missing for me either. I had to rename scalable/apps/gnome-system-monitor.svg to gnome-monitor.svg
hmm... i don't think is missing, it should look like a green terminal with some lines in it... at least it's not missing here
Wow, I really like what you've done here. These are fantastic.
One error however. The "gnome-system-monitor" icon is missing?
Using it for weeks now, and my friends get curious about Linux@desktop now,
yeah, i know... i did made an icon for galeon, but i'm still not satified with it, sorry. i'll add an icon when i think it's ready
i updated it.
i still don't have a galeon icon.. ![]()
but everything else, just love it!!
just posting to let you know i just updated the package and now i included the iconrc file
... now waiting for a.g.o. to review it.
yep, the reason is becouse i was stupid enough for not include the iconrc file ![]()
i'm working on getting the stock icons to work without using the iconrc file, but i'll release a *new* version including the missing file, sorry for this
The stock icons don't seem to be working. In fact they don't appear to be in the .theme file. The icons themselves exist though, is there a reason they have been disabled?
thanks for the feedback guys!
... i'll see what i can do for those icons (Galeon/Epiphany)
I love this iconset!.
But, i really like to have a separate galeon/Epiphany icon.
just posted an update i which those icons you want are included ![]()
just wait so A.G.O. can review it and post it.
Very nice work ! I really love it.
Could you make some icons for virtual filesystems (e.g. SSH or NFS) ?

Excellent, IMO the best iconset available for gnome!
But I'm having one problem thou, GAIM won't use the icons included, it uses the default gaim icons instead... Do you know how to solve this?
I also made a few symlinks to make more of the icons work correctly, for example the standard gnome iconset uses many more DVD icons (gnome-dev-disc-dvdrw.svg, gnome-dev-disc-dvdrom.svg, gnome-dev-disc-dvdram.svg, gnome-dev-disc-dvdr-plus.svg)
