Excellent job!! Some icons in the Places menu are missing though: home, desktop and (maybe) connect to server. These are displayed well on the desktop.

Can icons be made of gnome battery monitor applet as well?

Great theme!

it seems like Gnome 2.12 has different names for dvd & cd icons

I found what was the problem with Thunderbird: it needs a thunderbird-icon, like firefox uses firefox-icon (at least in my gnome2.10.2 gentoo machine), and it was missing.

But have problem with mozilla-thunderbird icon, it doesn't get the Nuovo icon...

yeah, i bet openoffice2 doesn't (i'll rename all OOo 1.9 icons for the new version), i'll look into thunderbird's icon, here works fine :)

Great work!
Only same little problems: thunderbird and openoffice2 don't get the Nuovo icons

well, looks like fedora's gnome has a custom main menu, Accessibility directory is missing and the Desktop menu is quite custom too (for example, there's no "System Settings" in the desktop menu).
i'm using Slackware and Dropline GNOME which is an unmodified GNOME distro for slackware (it has some apps that don't ship with GNOME, but that's about all the modifications that dropline makes to gnome).

Filenames are right, some other svg icon themes work correctly. I checked the index.theme and it wasn't much different from those other svg icon themes. It is very strange. Screenshot:

Preferences menu items are all as it should be.

I use Gnome 2.10 and Fedora Core 4. Does someone have the same problem with Fedora Core 4 or is it all right for you? Any help?

Another great release. Thank you :)

I have the Firefox theme too, very nice. I do have a suggestion for the firefox theme, it is possible to put icons in the menu that appears when you right click on a page. The Gnome-Fx theme does this.

I can see quite a few changes and I like all of them except for one which I'm not too keen on. It's the blue home folder you can see under the places menu. I prefered it the way it was before to be honest.

I managed to figure out how to add emblem icons so I made on for eBooks (a slightly modified bookmarks icon) and one for Programming (an exact copy of the terminal icon). How about adding a few more emblems to next next release? :-P

That's great news Ertz :(

As for Firefox theme tutorials I couldn't find any but this is pretty close http://cheeaun.phoenity.com/weblog/2004/12/first-steps-in-theme-design.html I should imagine that opening up an existing themes JAR file and examining it's contents will reveal what needs to be done. The MozillaZine Forums Theme section (http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewforum.php?f=18) has some information too.

Hope it helps, and thanks for the icons :-P

oups,
html does not like the Superior, Inferior symbols :)

Read:

"... and found that (22, Upper Case) instead of (18, Lower Case) gives a better rendering ..."

I use Fedora Core 4. Hm, maybe it is because of naming of icons. With some other icon themes everything is all right. I have to check that. Log off, lock screen, locations and desktop (I have localization enabled, I translated them, so they may have a little bit different names) have correct icons.

Also missing icons are 'last' and 'first'.

:)

From ertz

PET5, the missing icons in the main menu might be due to distribution-specific issues. what distro are you running?
i know redhat uses some custom applications and stuff like that.

as soon as i find a nice firefox theme tutorial :) thanks for all the feedback... 0.4 is coming soon

Wow it just got even better! Love the log for log files. Any chance of a Firefox theme for this great icon set?

From PET5

Also an icon for 'Open a new tab' button in Firefox. Maybe they are more, but I wanted to say that too at the moment.

Thank you very much! Really great icons and very complete set. Respect!

Some missing icons: .tex, .xls, .ppt, .dvi, .bak, the icon when gnome generates the thumbnail of a file. Also there are missing some main menu icons such as Internet, Office, Games etc, or maybe they just disappeared due to localisation...

hmm... a.g.o. admins seem to be taking their time with updates :\

From ertz
Posted 8 October 2005 - 10:07

heh, thanks :) ... yeah, i guess is quite easy to make these kind of icons, they'r pretty simple and you can combine a couple icons to make new ones (which is exactly what i do :-P... good ole copy & paste, ha!).

From Cretin

I really like it.
First because of the not-so-shiny-style
Second, beacause it's very easy to complete it and create new icons (mimetypes)

From deusiah
Posted 5 October 2005 - 19:40

Works very well with clearlooks and is not "distracting" as I tend to find many of the shiney style icons.

Hi, Just want jou to know.

in the 'index.theme' file,

on the 4th line:
Inherits=gnome

it should be:
Inherits=Nuovo

just posted a new update... 34 new icons, more emblems and reworked many icons, such as folders, trash can, globes and many more.
i don't know where to send a request for an admin to update the theme's screenshot, becouse the current one doesn't reflect the new changes... :\

From ertz
