I really like this theme too. I use it with Clearlooks-QuickSilver GTK+ theme. Looks really good. I've also seen a variation with a red closebutton.

This has got to be one of my favorite window borders to date. I'll be using this one for a while. Keep up the good work!

I'm the author of the original rounded version (Clearlooks and Clearlooks 2), not of this square version. :) The trouble is that Metacity only has a fixed option to use round corners, you can't specify the actual radius of the corners. This problem will go away once Metacity uses a real transparent background (like compiz already does), but this will require compositing. I can't wait for Compiz to get support for theme plugins.

Sparky,

There are other themes that have rounded corners. Couldn't you simply do what those themes are doing? Such as clearlooks, etc...

There are tons of rounded corner metacity themes out there. What I think they are missing is consistancy. The mockup I provided, is consistantly spaced properly through out.

I'm all about balance :)

Occy, unfortunately it is not possible to make smaller rounded corners with Metacity. I'm not sure about the spacing, I would have to check why I did it the way it is now (in the original) but I know that I had a reason.

Ok, I went through and cleaned up and made a mockup of how this theme REALLY should look:

HERE IS MINE!

Here is the original.
http://art.gnome.org/images/thumbnails/metacity/MCity-Clearlooks2-Squared.png

You'll notice that in mine, the corners match the min/max/close buttons. The spacing between each item is fixed too. 2 pixels from the left inner most border for the app icon, and 2 pixels from the right for the buttons. 2pixels is the amount of spacing between the buttons. So your spacing should be consistant there.

Keep it clean people!
As before, I'm sure I'll just be ignored, but at least I provided a mock-up of what I was talking about this time.

PS. I don't know how to do theme code, otherwise, I would have submitted a patch.

Nice theme; a change from normal Clearlooks

has that Vista thing been released yet? I doubt it.
there are some dark themes on art.gnome.org - I'd like
to see a clearlooks2 variant in these colours.

Love it... I have something against rounded corners but otherwise love Clearlooks, this fits the bill.

This rocks! It's been my default since I first laid eyes on it.

in case you haven't noticed, the shaded state is still round...unless that is by design?

Almost number one. You went for the low hanging fruit and didn't think things through clearly. Check out this screenshot...

I would implement that, and also make the shaded title bars look the same as the normal title bars.

Explaination of what I did:

Took out 4 corners 1x1 pixel (this is a mockup, as I can't do metacity code stuff)

Replaced top, left, right window borders with top, left, right button(min/max/close) colors.

Replaced bottom window border with bottom button border color.

Hope this helps, or is interesting to you. :)

Good work, and feel free to bug me on freenode if you need any more feedback.
