To clear up the comments about GPL licenses (which I have not seen solely for this icon set),

http://www.gnu.org/licenses/license-list.html#OtherLicenses

is what the Free Software Foundation says about art licenses. They discourage the use of the GPL for artwork, as the source code - binary paradigm does not really apply.

If you are worried about being GPL-incompatible, which the CC licenses are, we are working adding the Free Art license (which the FSF recommends to the options.
