One of the better ones. One of the *much* better ones, actually. Still, a slightly darker background for panels, menus etc. would be significantly easier on the eyes, and reduce fatigue. It could further make the distinction between controls and content easier, improving user focus.

You had a rather fantastic start, but the new shiny plastic blue folder icons are a change for the worse. They don't blend in as well with different environments as the former gray ones (which had also the great advantage of displaying subtle but noticable visual clues with the coloured tabs -- good!) and create far too much visual distraction. Not quite what the doctor ordered. There is already far too much visual incoherence and 'scribbled-by-the-hacker's-monkeys-while-on-impressing-drugs' type interface design on the free desktop. The cluttered and patchworked GUI is still a major PITA. That's also why I'm actually quite fine with the road this project has taken so far, oh happy day! -- apart from upmentioned issue, which is a major show stopper, imnsho. Not for matters of taste but for plain practical reasons (we're not discussing mere decoration, are we?). btw, the perspective of the folders devies significantly from that of most other objects. >;-> and some of the icons have still too much tell-tale detail elements, making them fuzzy and much harder to recognise, especially at lower resolutions (taking away important distinctive qualities). And... ah well, ok, i'll cut it for now. :)
